Miami, FL - Following new reporting detailing major contributions from Big Tobacco and a gun manufacturer to Attorney General James Uthmeier’s campaign, Democratic candidate for Attorney General José Javier Rodríguez criticized Uthmeier for prioritizing powerful special interests over Florida families.
Recent campaign finance filings show Uthmeier’s political committee received large contributions from corporate interests, including a tobacco company and a gun manufacturer that has pushed to limit accountability in the courts.
“While Florida families are struggling to keep up with rising costs, James Uthmeier is bankrolling his campaign with checks from Big Tobacco and a gun manufacturer looking to avoid accountability.
