Broward State Attorney Harold Pryor Endorses José Javier Rodríguez for Florida Attorney General

Broward, FL. - Today, Broward State Attorney Harold Pryor endorsed José Javier Rodríguez for Florida Attorney General, highlighting the need for an Attorney General who will focus on protecting families, holding bad actors accountable, and restoring integrity to the office.

"Floridians will have in José an Attorney General who will put the public interest first and stand up for the rule of law,” said State Attorney Harold Pryor. “José Javier Rodríguez has the experience, independence, and commitment to accountability that this office requires. He understands the challenges our communities face and will work every day to protect consumers and ensure justice is applied fairly.”

Pryor has served as the State Attorney for Florida’s 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward since 2021, leading one of the largest prosecutor’s offices in the state. Pryor has built a career focused on public safety, fairness in the justice system, and strengthening trust between communities and the institutions that serve them. He made history as the first Black state attorney in Broward and the first Black man elected state attorney in Florida.

“I’m honored to have State Attorney Pryor’s support,” said José Javier Rodríguez. “The Attorney General’s office should stand up for Florida families, not powerful special interests. I’m committed to doing just that.”

This endorsement adds to the growing list of respected leaders backing Rodríguez’s campaign, including U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, former Florida Attorney General Bob Butterworth, former U.S. Senator Bill Nelson, former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, former Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg, former Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, and former state legislator and former Florida Attorney General candidate Sean Shaw.
